When new families move into the community, we have been told that it is helpful to receive basic information that makes it easier to navigate in a new environment. To that end, please see below for some general information about Nature's Walk of Amelia and an abbreviated list of everyday, recurring items we all need to be aware of and observe.
General Information
- The Nature's Walk of Amelia HOA board is made up of five of your neighbors who are elected by the homeowners. The mission of the organization is to preserve and enhance the value and livability of the community. Our guiding document is the set of Covenants and Regulations to which all homeowners are bound.
- Nature's Walk of Amelia is a deed-restricted community, which means that all homeowners and residents must adhere to the HOA's Covenants, Rules and Standards, and Bylaws found on the Governing Documents page.
- Homeowners must get approval before initiating any change to the exterior of their home. For architectural review, please submit the ARC application form of proposed change found on the ARC Application Form page. Approval of changes and/or additions is based on (but not limited to) existing covenants and restrictions as well as the potential impact on neighbors.
Abbreviated List of Everyday Recurring Items Homeowners Need to Know
- Trash is picked up weekly on Friday. Recycle is picked up once a week on Tuesday. Please leave at least a 3-foot space around the trash and recycle containers so the automated "arm" can easily pick up the bins.
- Trash and recycle cans must be stored out of sight of the street and/or view of your neighbors.
- Trash/recycle containers are not to be put out before 5:00 p.m. on the evening before pickup. If out-of-town, you might ask a neighbor to put cans out and/or put them back for you so they are not left out on the street. If you can't find a neighbor to help you, please contact us and one of us will take care of it for you.
- Yard waste (must be in paper bags, not plastic) is picked up on Monday morning. For customer service, call 904-277-7300 option 2, option 2.
- For pickup of items that are neither yard waste nor recycle and don't fit in your garbage can, please contact Waste Management directly. See Waste Management's website or contact Customer Service at 866-909-4458.
- Whether you are doing it yourself or have lawn service, the yard and driveway must be kept neat and uncluttered. (No signs are allowed except for realty and rental signs)
- No parking on the grass—only in the driveway.
- No commercial vehicles, recreational vehicles, campers, boats, or trailers of any kind may be kept or parked on any lot except completely inside and within a garage attached to a living unit.
- Please keep the garage door closed unless you are working in the garage or working outside and need access to the garage.
- To ensure that the HOA fence is not negatively impacted, residents whose backyard fence includes section(s) of the white fence, please note:
- Foliage may not hang over or push against the fence.
- Fence panels may not be removed for any reason without first notifying the board.
- While not a covenant or regulation, Nature's Walk neighbors expect dog walkers to pick up after their dog(s) and be sensitive to the fact that yards in Nature's Walk are private property.
